How do I Clean my Mac Screen?

Published: 26th of January, 2023

MacBooks are known for their sleek design and powerful performance, making them a favorite among professionals and creative individuals. However, one issue that many MacBook users experience is smudging on their screens. This can be especially frustrating, as smudged screens can make it difficult to read or view content.

To clean your MacBook's or iMac's screen, it's important to first turn off the computer and unplug it from any power source. Then, use a microfiber cloth or a lint-free cloth to gently wipe the screen. Avoid using paper towels or other rough materials as they can scratch the screen. If there are any stubborn smudges, stains or fingerprints on the display is use a cloth moistened with a small amount of water or a 70% isopropyl alcohol (IPA) solution (Isocol here in Australia) to gently wipe the display in a circular motion.

A popular brand of Isopropyl alcohol in Australia features an adorable cool crocodile, we don't just use it to clean MacBooks, it's pretty good for heat rash and insect bites in the summer too!

It's super important to remember that you should avoid using any abrasive materials like paper towels or cleaning solutions on your Mac's screen, as they can damage the screen or leave behind residue. With a little care and attention, you can keep your MacBook's screen looking as good as new!

Beautiful on the inside too!

Now that your Macbook's screen is clean, crisp and good as new, you should have a look at cleaning the inside of your Mac with a built-in utility that's already available and installed on your device.

See you next time!
